Synopsis
In a boundless white space, suspended outside of time and memory, every movement is watched and every breath weighs like a sentence. Amid omnipresent cameras, black birds, and crawling ants, a journey through purgatory unfolds, a surreal realm where guilt, pain, and memory converge. Across three acts, non-subjects confront fragments of themselves and the elusive possibility of liberation. A visual and poetic exploration of the soul, caught between condemnation and redemption.
About
I’m Flavio Papa, a director and filmmaker born in 1999 in Sorengo, Switzerland. After finishing high school in Lugano in 2019, I pursued acting courses and graduated in Communication Sciences from IULM University in Milan in 2022, studying film history with Gianni Canova and attending masterclasses with directors like Paolo Sorrentino and Matteo Garrone. I also trained in theater directing. Since 2022, I’ve collaborated with non-profit organizations creating social awareness campaigns. In 2023, I presented my first experimental short film, BAMBÙ, and won the jury prize with my mini-documentary LA VIOLINISTA INVISIBILE at the Phone Video Festival. In 2024, I directed IL GURU DEL BUSINESS and the experimental short GA-ME, both selected and awarded at various festivals and distributed by Sagittabonda. Since 2024, I’ve been specializing in Film Production at CISA in Locarno. In 2025, I completed the experimental environmental documentary VENT’ANNI, continuing my commitment to sustainability and raising awareness about environmental issues.
