Join our AI short film festival, celebrating creativity through blooming new AI technologies.
Artefact and mk2 have teamed up to launch the first edition of a unique festival that celebrates films created and produced using generative artificial intelligence tools. Everyone can participate, and on this website, you will find all the resources to submit your creations and vote for the selected works.
We believe that AI makes cinematic resources, previously reserved for major studios, accessible to everyone.
The Artefact AI Film Festival celebrates talents who harness these new tools to unlock their creative potential and enhance their artistic visions.
Our goal is to support those who write, produce, direct, and edit films using AI, and to introduce the public to works that explore these new creative processes.
Filmmakers, viewers, and audiences, welcome to the first edition of the Artefact AI Film Festival!

Jean-Pierre Jeunet is a renowned French filmmaker known for his unique storytelling and visual style. His short films gained recognition and awards both in France and internationally.
In 1989, Jeunet directed "Foutaises," winning numerous accolades including the César Award for Best Short Film. Collaborating with Caro, they created their first feature film, "Délicatessen" (1991), a darkly humorous success that paved the way for their ambitious project, "La Cité des Enfants Perdus" (1995), which premiered at Cannes. Jeunet's success attracted Hollywood's attention, leading to his direction of the fourth installment of the "Alien" franchise.
Jeunet also crafted the beloved film "Amélie" (2001) which became a worldwide sensation. Subsequent projects like "Un Long Dimanche de Fiançailles" (2004), "Micmacs à Tire-Larigot" (2009) and "T. S. Spivet" (shot in 3D, 2013) continued to blend his whimsical storytelling with critical acclaim and commercial success.
Throughout his career, Jeunet's collaborations and innovative storytelling have earned him a reputation as France's most awarded filmmaker, adept at creating films that resonate with audiences and with their era, as seen in "Bigbug" on Netflix, exploring the implications of artificial intelligence with his unique touch.
