José Man Lius is a French transdisciplinary artist of Caribbean origin whose work explores an "ecosystemic aesthetics," questioning the boundaries between nature and artifice. Born in Paris in 1970 and trained at the Ateliers des Beaux-Arts de Versailles, his hybrid practice merges art, science, and technology. Through projects like ORGANIC vs GMO, INTRUSION, SAL NACI, and Cultural Landscapes, he investigates the tensions between memory, identity, and transformation. His previous short film, APPLI LIFE, co-directed with Najoua Ferréol, presented a dystopian vision of connected objects and the "ideal family" in a future world. Rooted in a mesological approach, his work deconstructs intimate, collective, and post-colonial narratives, mobilizing memory as a form of resistance against contemporary narrative manipulations.
