Synopsis

In a remote Tajik mountain village, winter sunlight never reaches the narrow streets below. Eleven-year-old Sino lives in the shadow of the mountains with his younger sister, who wonders whether the sun will ever reach their home. Sino promises that he will bring it to her. When he notices how a mirror can catch and redirect sunlight, a simple idea becomes a mission. What begins as a child’s promise leads Sino through the village, drawing attention, misunderstanding and pursuit, until his small act becomes something larger than he expected. The Sun Thief is a story about a child trying to reconnect what nature has kept apart — light and shadow, hope and isolation, a promise and the person waiting for it.
