# Artefact AI Film Festival

> The 3rd edition of the Artefact AI Film Festival — an international competition for
> short films made with generative AI, organised by Artefact with mk2. The theme of the
> 2026 edition is "(Dis)Connection". The awards ceremony takes place in
> February 2027 at MK2 Bibliothèque, Paris.

## Key facts
- The festival is open to everyone worldwide.
- Films should be a maximum of 314 seconds.
- You must have used at least one generative AI technology in each of the three phases of film production: pre-production, production and post-production.
- Submissions are open from 2 September to 2 December 2026.
- The audience vote runs from 9 December 2026 to 13 January 2027.
- The jury deliberates in January 2027.
- The awards ceremony takes place in February 2027 at MK2 Bibliothèque, Paris.
- The Grand Prix awards €10,000 to the best film of the festival, and a trailer of the winning film is screened in all mk2 network theatres before the main feature.
- The Jury Award gives €1,000 for an original piece of filmmaking or cinematography.
- The Audience Award gives €1,000 to the most popular film, according to the audience vote.
- A special €1,000 award recognises the film with the best or most innovative use of artificial intelligence.
